SUNDAY, AUG 1

Buffalo Freewill Baptist Church, Nora: Sunday school begins at 10
a.m., and worship service starts at 11 a.m. Youth Fellowship Group
meets the third Wednesday of each month through October. Pastor,
Ellis Leftwich.

Calvary Baptist Church, Georges Fork: Annual homecoming services will be held at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. A dinner will be served.
Former Pastor Kyle Rose will preach.

Dwale Community Church: Darrell Milgrim will preach. Pastor, Tommy Austin.

Georges Fork Freewill Baptist Church: Tony Burke will preach and The Burke Family will sing.

McClure Pentecostal Church: Sunday School begins at 10 a.m. Worship service starts at 11 a.m. Wednesday night Bible study begins at 7 p.m. Pastor, Greg Edwards.

Mountain View Freedom of Worship: Larry Younce will preach and the congregation will sing at the 11 a.m. service.

Philadephia Chapel: Bible study is held every Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Rachel Chapel Church: Roger Freeman will preach and Blessed Hope will sing at the 11 a.m. service. On Aug. 7, Wayne Stanley will preach and Gretta Bolling will sing at a 7 p.m. service. On Aug. 15,
Gospel Grass Trio will sing at 11 a.m. On Aug. 22, Robert Phipps will

Yates Chapel Church: Humble Hearts will sing at the 11 a.m. service. Pastor, Gary Stanley.

OTHER EVENTS

Cruise N For Christ: Tuesday, Aug. 10 at Valley View Freewill Baptist Church, 6 p.m. Praise and worship music will be performed by Josh Powers. Also planned are car displays, special speakers and dramas.

Gospel singing: July 31 at Lick Fork Freewill Baptist Church, 6 p.m.
Scheduled singers include We’ll Still Sing On, Junior Branham, Gospel Heirs, Honey Camp Singers and the Gospel Lights. Non-perishable food donations will be accepted for the food bank.

Martin’s Chapel, Martintown, annual picnic: Aug. 1, 11 a.m., at
Margie Martin’s home near the church. Bill Knoskie will preach and
Mark and Christy Childress will sing. Games and activities are
planned for the children. Pastor, Ralph Bo Patterson.

Vacation Bible School at Millcreek Freewill Baptist Church: Aug. 2-6,
6:30-8:30 p.m. each night. Theme is “Soul Survivors on Danger
Island.” Planned activities include games, crafts, snacks, a Bible
lesson, and an adult class. Pastor, Doug Moore.

Yard sale at Lick Fork Freewill Baptist Church: Aug. 7 at 9 a.m.

Mission team coming to Haysi: Community Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Haysi is partnering with Spotswood Baptist Church to serve the Haysi community and Dickenson County. Events have been scheduled
for Aug. 2-6. A children’s ministry will be held Aug. 2-4 from 5-7
p.m. at the church. On Aug. 2, free hotdog dinners will be offered
from 1-5 p.m. On Aug. 3, the team will spend the day at the Dickenson
County Food Bank. On Aug. 4, free clothes, coats, and backpacks of
school supplies for the upcoming school year will be provided on a
first-come, first-served basis from 1-5 p.m. Events on Aug. 5 will
include a block party featuring games, prizes and fun for the whole
community at 4 p.m. in the Haysi Town Hall parking lot. An outside
worship service is planned. Another block party is planned for Aug. 6
at 4 p.m. at the town hall parking lot. The church’s worship band,
E320, and other bands will perform. For more information, go to
